Privacy Policy

HigherStudiesAptitudeTest(“we”, “us”) provides a career-discovery assessment for school and college students. This policy covers the HigherStudiesAptitudeTest mobile app and higherstudiesaptitudetest.com. By using either, you agree to what is described here.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address and a securely hashed password. Never the password itself.
• A WhatsApp number, if you give one — used only to send you your report and assessment updates. It is optional; the app works fully without it.
• Assessment responses — the answers you choose, the time you take, and the scores computed from them.
• Parent and teacher observations— when you send an observation link, the responder's relationship to you and their ratings. Their answers are attached to your report, not published anywhere.
• Payment records — order reference, amount and status from our payment provider. We never see or store card numbers, UPI PINs, CVVs or bank credentials.
• Basic technical data — the app version and error logs needed to keep the service working.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera. The app requests no such permissions.

Why we collect it

• To generate your assessment report and keep it available to you.
• To operate your account — sign-in, verification codes, resuming a paused test.
• To unlock paid features after a successful payment.
• To send you your report or a reminder on WhatsApp, if you gave us a number.
• To fix faults and keep the service secure.

Students under 18

Most of our users are school students, and many are minors. We ask only for what the assessment needs and we never build advertising profiles. If you are under 18, use HigherStudiesAptitudeTestwith the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian may ask us to see, correct or delete their child's data at any time by writing to vj.as.entrepreneur@gmail.com — we will verify the request and act within 30 days. When a school runs the assessment with a class, the school is responsible for obtaining parental consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only with the services that make the app work:

• Our hosting and database providers — to store your account and answers securely.
• Our payment provider — to take a payment and confirm it. They receive your payment details directly; we receive only the result.
• WhatsApp (Meta) — only when you or your school asks us to send a report or an observation link to a number you have provided.
• Your school — only if you took the assessment as part of a school programme, in which case your school can see your result.
• Law enforcement — only where we are legally required to.

We use no advertising networks and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Cookies

We set only essential cookies: two secure, HTTP-only cookies that keep you signed in, and one that remembers you are using the app rather than the website. No advertising or tracking cookies are set.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as strong one-way hashes and cannot be read by us or anyone else. Access to the database is restricted to the people who operate the service.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and reports while your account is open, so you can come back to them. Deleting your account permanently removes your details, your answers, your reports and the observations attached to them — immediately from the app, and from our backups within 30 days. This cannot be undone.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. The fastest route is Delete your account, which you can start from inside the app under Profile. You may also write to vj.as.entrepreneur@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and the date at the foot of it, and the app will show the new version at the same address.
